Torneo Gran Alternativa (2007)
The Torneo Gran Alternativa (2007) (Spanish for "Great Alternative Tournament") was the first CMLL Torneo Gran Alternativa professional wrestling tournament held by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL; Spanish for "World Wrestling Council"). The tournament was held on June 29, 2007, in Mexico City, Mexico at CMLL's main venue, Arena México. The Gran Alternativa tournament features tag teams composed of a rookie, or ''novato'', and a veteran wrestler for an elimination tournament. The idea is to feature the ''novato'' wrestlers higher on the card that they usually work and help elevate one or more up the ranks. The CMLL World Tag Team Championship (''CMLL Campeonato Mundial de Parejas'' in Spanish language, Spanish) is a professional wrestling World Tag Team Championship promoted by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL; Spanish for "World Wrestling Council") in Mexico and is for two-man tag teams only. The Mexican National Trios Championship (''Campeonato Nacional de Tríos'' in Spanish) is a three-man tag team professional wrestling championship, sanctioned by the "Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F." (''Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission''), which oversees all matches where the championship is defended.
