Cristina García-Orcoyen Tormo
Cristina García-Orcoyen Tormo (born 2 January 1948) is a Spanish People's Party politician and environmentalist who served a single term as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the European Parliament between 1999 and 2004. She was the general secretary of the World Wide Fund for Nature in Spain () from 1983 to 1996 and was made head of the private non-profit Environment Foundation in 1996. Tormo worked on several directives and community initiatives relating to the environment, industrial and foreign policy when she was an elected member of the European Parliament. Biography Tormo was born in Madrid, Spain on 2 January 1948. She obtained a degree in Political and Economic Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and has an MBA in Business Management and Business Administration from Madrid's IESE Business School. Elías Tormo
Elías Tormo y Monzó (1869–1957) was a Spanish art historian. Life Tormo was born in Albaida (Valencia), on 23 June 1869. He studied Law in Valencia and Arts in Madrid, becoming a professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela. In 1903 he moved to Universidad Central (now Complutense University of Madrid) to take up the first professorship in Art History ever to be established in Spain. He eventually became rector of the university. Together with Manuel Gómez-Moreno Martínez he founded the journal '' Archivo Español de Arte y Arqueología''. He was a member of the Real Academia de la Historia and of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. He also served in public office as a parliamentarian (1903-5, 1907-23, 1927-30, 1949-52), and as Minister of Public Instruction and Fine Arts (1930-31). Ricardo Tormo Blaya (7 September 1952 – 27 December 1998) was a Spanish professional motorcycle road racer. He competed in Grand Prix motorcycle racing from to , most prominently as a two-time 50cc world champion riding Bultaco motorcycles. The Circuit de Valencia race track was renamed Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo in his honor. Biography Tormo was born in the village of Alacor in the municipality of Canals in the Spanish province of Valencia. When he was 8, his family moved into the center of Canals. Tormo won the FIM 50cc world championship as a member of the Bultaco factory racing team. He repeated as 50cc world champion in on a privately backed Bultaco. Sara Sorribes Tormo (; born 8 October 1996) is a Spanish professional tennis player. She achieved her career-high singles WTA rankings, ranking of world No. 32 on 7 February 2022 and No. 17 in doubles on 6 May 2024. She has won two singles titles and five doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as one doubles title on the WTA 125 tournaments, WTA Challenger Tour. On the ITF Women's Circuit, ITF Circuit, she has won ten singles and five doubles titles.
