Sara Sorribes Tormo (; born 8 October 1996) is a Spanish professional tennis player. Sorribes Tormo has won one singles title and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as one doubles title on the WTA Challenger Tour. On the ITF Circuit, she has won ten singles and five doubles titles. She won her maiden WTA title at the 2021 Abierto Zapopan in Guadalajara. She achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 32 on 7 February 2022 and peaked at No. 40 in the WTA doubles rankings on 3 February 2020. On the Challenger Tour, she has been runner-up at the Bol Open, and champion at the Open de Limoges, in doubles in 2019. Sorribes Tormo made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2015 Rio Open, after making it through the qualifying rounds. Ricardo Tormo Blaya (September 7, 1952 – December 27, 1998) was a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Biography Tormo was born in the Spanish province of Valencia, in Ayacor, which is a small village dependent on Canals. When he was 8, his family moved into the center of Canals. Tormo won the FIM 50cc world championship as a member of the Bultaco factory racing team. He repeated as 50cc world champion in on a privately backed Bultaco. He was also a three-time 50cc Spanish national champion and a four-time 125cc national champion. His career was closely linked to that of Ángel Nieto, who was both a teammate and rival of Tormo. In 1983, together with Jorge “Aspar” Martínez, Tormo signed with the Derbi factory to compete for the 1984 world championship in the new 80cc category. Cristina García-Orcoyen Tormo (born 2 January 1948) is a Spanish People's Party politician and environmentalist who served a single term as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the European Parliament between 1999 and 2004. She was the general secretary of the World Wide Fund for Nature in Spain () from 1983 to 1996 and was made head of the private non-profit Environment Foundation in 1996. Tormo worked on several directives and community initiatives relating to the environment, industrial and foreign policy when she was a elected member of the European Parliament.
