Knattspyrnufélagið Hörður (, ), commonly known as Hörður or Hörður Ísafjörður, is an Icelandic multi-sport club from the town of Ísafjörður. It was founded in 1919 as a football club but since 1933 it has fielded other departments, most prominently in handball, track & field, skiing and Icelandic wrestling. Ísafjarðarbær () is a municipality of Iceland in the Westfjords region, created in 1996 from Flateyrarhreppur, Ísafjarðarkaupstaður, Mosvallahreppur, Mýrahreppur, Suðureyrarhreppur and Þingeyrarhreppur. The Vestri men's football team, commonly known as Vestri, is the men's football department of the Íþróttafélagið Vestri multi-sport club and is based in Ísafjarðarbær, Iceland. As of 2024, it plays in the Icelandic top-tier Besta deild karla. History The club was founded in 1986 as the football department of ''Badmintonfélag Ísafjarðar'', or BÍ for short. It first participated in the Icelandic tier-4 league, then known as 4. deild karla, that same year and their first coach was former Icelandic international player Björn Helgason. In 1988, Ísafjörður biggest club, Íþróttabandalag Ísafjarðar (ÍBÍ), folded after years of financial difficulties and most of their players moved over to BÍ who took over as the town's major football club. In 2000, ÍBÍ merged with Héraðssamband Vestur-Ísfirðinga to form Héraðssamband Vestfirðinga. Kerecis
Kerecis is an Icelandic company that uses fish skins to treat wounds. The decellularized skin of the Atlantic cod is used as a graft, which increases the elasticity, tensile strength, and compressibility of the wound. Kerecis has subsidiaries in Switzerland and the United States. It is based in Ísafjörður, Iceland. In July 2023, Kerecis was sold to Danish company Coloplast for 1.2 billion USD. History Fertram Sigurjonsson observed in 2009 that the skin of the fish and qualities, which are similar to those of human skin, expedited the latter's regeneration, particularly in the case of acute or chronic wounds. In linguistics, definiteness is a semantic feature of noun phrases that distinguishes between referents or senses that are identifiable in a given context (definite noun phrases) and those that are not (indefinite noun phrases). ''Morgunblaðið'' (, ''The Morning Paper'') is an Icelandic daily newspaper. ''Morgunblaðið''s website, mbl.is, is the most popular website in Iceland. It is currently the country's only daily printed newspaper and the newspaper of record.
