Bergens Turnforening, often shortened to Bergens Turn is a Norwegian sports club from Bergen, founded in 1882. It has sections for athletics, orienteering, gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics. The biggest international success has come in gymnastics, where the club had multiple Olympic champions before the Second World War. In the same period the club saw its heyday in Norwegian athletics; it is now a feeder team of IL Gular. General history The club was founded on 5 March 1882, among others by Johan Martens. All events were held at the Sports Hall in Munich from 27 August through 1 September. The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and officially branded as Munich 1972 (; ), were an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. It was the second Summer Olympics to be held in Germany, after the 1936 Summer Olympics, 1936 Games in Berlin, which had taken place under the Nazi Germany, Nazi rule.
