Tore Frängsmyr
Tore Lennart Frängsmyr (8 July 1938 in Skellefteå – 28 August 2017 in Uppsala) was a Swedish historian. He was the first holder of the Hans Rausing professorship in the history of science at Uppsala university. According to J.L. Heilbron, Frängsmyr "dominated the history of science in Sweden from his chair at the University of Uppsala for a quarter century." Frängsmyr was born in 1938, the son of Johan and Linnea Karlsson. He grew up in Sjöbotten outside Bureå in Västerbotten, as the fifth of eight children; the family took the name Frängsmyr in 1954, after ''Frängsmyren'', a wetland area near Sjöbotten. Tore Frängsmyr worked as a freelance journalist at the newspaper '' Norra Västerbotten'' in the 1950s, while he was still at school. After his secondary school graduation in Skellefteå, he moved to Uppsala in 1958, to study philosophy and history. Skellefteå
Skellefteå (, locally ) is a Cities in Sweden, city in Västerbotten County, Sweden, with a population of 36,388. It is the seat of Skellefteå Municipality, which had 77,322 inhabitants in 2024. The city is historically industrial, with mining being a large part of that industry, especially for gold, leading to the city being nicknamed ''Guldstaden'' ("gold town"). Politically, Skellefteå is a Social Democrats (Sweden), Social Democratic stronghold. The city is a well-known hockeytown, ice hockey town, with its main team Skellefteå AIK playing in the Swedish top division: the Swedish Hockey League, SHL, which they have won on several occasions; most recently in 2023–24 SHL season, 2024. The city was incorporated in 1845 and grew to its current population size in the 1950s and 1960s, growing only slowly since. Svante Lindqvist
Lars Svante Albert Lindqvist (born 26 April 1948) is a Swedish people, Swedish History of technology, historian who was the Marshal of the Realm (Sweden), Marshal of the Realm of Sweden and chief of the Royal Court of Sweden from 1 January 2010 until 30 August 2018. Since 1 September 2018 he is appointed Chancellor of the Royal Orders of Knighthood, the chancery overseeing the Orders, decorations, and medals of Sweden. Biography Lindqvist is the son of architect Åke E. Lindqvist and Barbro Åström. He holds an Master of Science in Engineering, MSE in engineering physics from the Royal Institute of Technology since 1977. After contact with Torsten Althin, he had written a thesis with focus on historical technology.
