Topusko is a Municipalities of Croatia, municipality and settlement in Sisak-Moslavina County, Croatia. Topusko is an underdeveloped municipality which is statistically classified as the Areas of Special State Concern (Croatia), First Category Area of Special State Concern by the Government of Croatia. Donja Čemernica
Donja Čemernica ( sr-cyr, Доња Чемерница) is a village in central Croatia, in the municipality of Topusko, Sisak-Moslavina County. It is connected by the D6 highway. History The village of Čemernica (comprising Gornja Čemernica and Donja Čemernica) suffered heavy demographic losses in the World war II losing 586 of its residents, 295 of whom perished in the Glina massacre on 3 August 1941. Sisak-Moslavina County () is a Croatian county in eastern Central Croatia and southwestern Slavonia. It is named after the city of Sisak and the region Moslavina just across the river Sava. According to the 2021 census, it is inhabited by 140,000 people . This county contains the ancient Roman city of Siscia—today's Sisak. Siscia was the largest city of the region back then, a Pannonian capital, likely due to its position on the confluence of the Kupa and Sava rivers. The city's patron saint is its first Christian bishop, St. Kvirin, who was tortured and almost killed during Diocletian's persecution of Christians.
