Top Of Iowa Conference
The Top of Iowa Conference is a high school athletic conference in northern Iowa. The schools range in size from 1A (the smallest classification in Iowa) to 3A (the second largest). Beginning in 2015–16, the North Iowa Conference and the Corn Bowl Conference combined to create the Top of Iowa Conference with two divisions. The Top of Iowa Conference–West includes Eagle Grove, Belmond–Klemme, Garner–Hayfield–Ventura, West Hancock, Forest City, Lake Mills, North Iowa, Bishop Garrigan, and North Union. The Top of Iowa Conference–East includes Osage, Mason City Newman, West Fork, North Butler, Central Springs, Northwood-Kensett, Rockford, St. Ansgar, and Nashua-Plainfield. Osage Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Osage, Iowa. Eagle Grove, Iowa
Eagle Grove is a city in Wright County, Iowa, Wright County, Iowa, United States. The population was 3,601 at the time of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Eagle Grove is the largest city in Wright County. History Eagle Grove was platted in 1881. It was named from the eagle nests seen by early settlers in a nearby Oak tree grove perched above the bank of the Boone River. In 1851 Mr. N. B. Paine moved to Wright County, purchased property and constructed a log cabin that stood directly west of the grove. The nest was over six feet in diameter. The eagles settled in the nest in the spring and summer of 1855–56, However, in the spring of 1857 they were shot and killed by a trapper. Thus Eagle Grove was named in honour of these eagles. Algona, Iowa
Algona is the county seat of Kossuth County, Iowa, United States. The population was 5,487 at the 2020 census. Ambrose A. Call State Park is located two miles southwest of the city. History Algona was founded in 1854 and was named after the Algonquian word for "Algonquin waters". Between 1869 and 1875 the community was the location of Algona College, an institution sponsored by the Methodist Church. In 1894, Algona, along with other Iowa communities such as Dysart and Wesley, became part of the project known as the "Orphan Trains".
