Tony Tripoli
Tony Tripoli (December 2, 1969) is an American actor, comedian and LGBT rights activist. He performs his stand-up comedy throughout the United States, and has produced, written and appeared on numerous TV series. Biography Tripoli was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where his parents owned a florist's shop. When he was young, his mother would take him to the launderette, where he would stand on the washing machines and sing for the customers there. He performed with The Phoenix Boys Choir for several years. After graduating from Central High School, he moved to Los Angeles, where he lived for 30 years. He went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. He moved backed to Phoenix in 2017. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review aggregator, review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor Theatre, stage performance, the direct inspiration for the name from Duong, Lee, and Wang came from an equivalent scene in the 1992 Canadian film ''Léolo''. Since January 2010, Rotten Tomatoes has been owned by Flixster, which was in turn acquired by Warner Bros. in 2011. The ''Seattle Gay News'' is a weekly newspaper aimed at the Seattle and Puget Sound area LGBT community in the U.S. state of Washington. As of 2023, the SGN is distributed to every library in the King County Library System, Seattle Public Library System, and Pierce County Library System, as well as roughly 115 other locations in Seattle, Tacoma, Bellingham, Spokane and Ocean Shores. History The newspaper was founded in 1974 by Jim Tully and Jim Arnold. Editor George Bakan, an LGBTQ+ activist in Seattle, acted as head of the SGN from 1984 until his death from a sudden heart attack in 2020.
