Tony Rivero
Tony Rivero is an American politician and a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 21 since January 5, 2015. In 2017 he was listed as the third most absent member of the Arizona House of Representatives. Rivero previously served on the Peoria, Arizona city council. Early life and education Rivero was born and grew up in Peoria, Arizona. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education, political Science, and history and a Master of Arts in political science from Arizona State University, as well as a Master of Public Administration from Northern Arizona University. Elections * 2014 – Rivero and Rick Gray were unopposed in the Republican primary. Gray and Rivero defeated Esther Duran Lumm in the general election. Arizona's 21st Legislative District is one of 30 in the state, consisting of sections of Cochise County, Pima County, and Santa Cruz County, Arizona, Santa Cruz County. As of 2023, there are 70 precincts in the district, with a total registered voter population of 130,490. The district has an overall population of 244,412. Following the 2020 United States redistricting cycle, the Redistricting in Arizona, Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission (AIRC) redrew legislative district boundaries in Arizona. The 21st district was drawn as ''a majority Latino constituency'', with 58% of residents being Hispanic or Latino. Debra Kay Lesko (née Lorenz; born November 14, 1958) is an American politician and a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing since 2018. The district is in the West Valley portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area and includes Glendale, Surprise, Sun City, Peoria, and part of western Phoenix. Lesko served in the Arizona Senate from 2015 to 2018. She was president pro tempore of the Arizona Senate from 2017 to 2018.
