Tony Parr
Rear Admiral Anthony Jonathan Parr, (born 4 August 1955) was the Chief of the Royal New Zealand Navy from April 2009 to November 2012. He was succeeded by Rear Admiral Jack Steer. Early life Parr was born in Wellington, New Zealand. He was raised in Fiji and attended New Plymouth Boys' High School as a boarder. He graduated from the University of Waikato in 1977 with a Bachelor of Social Science in politics and after completing the first year of a Bachelor of Law degree in 1979, he joined the Royal New Zealand Navy in January 1980 in the rank of sub lieutenant. Thad William Allen (born 16 January 1949) is a former admiral of the United States Coast Guard who served as the 23rd commandant from 2006 to 2010. David Ledson
Rear Admiral David Ian Ledson, (born 13 January 1951) is a retired senior officer of the Royal New Zealand Navy and former Chief of Navy (2004–09). He is the Chairman of the Board of Maritime New Zealand, and was named a Companion of the Royal Society of New Zealand in 2009. Early life and education Ledson was educated at Inangahua College and Christchurch Boys' High School, and joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as a cadet midshipman in January 1967. He underwent training at the Royal Australian Naval College, Jervis Bay. From 1969 to 1971 he studied at the University of Auckland and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
