Tony Murphy (auditor)
Tony Murphy (born 1 May 1962) is an Irish auditor who as served as a member of the European Court of Auditors since 2018, including as its President since 2022. Biography He began his career as an auditor in 1979 at the Comptroller and Auditor General of Ireland, where he was Senior Auditor at from 1994 to 1999. In 2008 he was Chairman of the Audit Board at the European Investment Fund. In 2013 he became head of Cabinet of a Court of an Auditor member. From 2017 to 2018 he was Director of the Fourth Chamber of the European Court of Auditors, responsible for ''Market Regulation and Competitive Economy''. He became a member of the European Court of Auditors in 2018 and has been its President since 1 October 2022, replacing Klaus-Heiner Lehne. He achieved the required majority in the body of 27 members in the second round of voting. Francis J. "Tony" Murphy (July 1859 – December 15, 1915), was an American Association (19th century), American Association catcher who played for the 1884 New York Metropolitans. He appeared in one game on October 15, 1884 and recorded one hit and one run in three at-bats. Tony Murphy (basketball)
Tony Murphy (born April 15, 1957) is a retired American basketball player. He is best known for leading NCAA Division I in scoring in 1979–80 with a 32.1 points per game average. Murphy played college basketball at Southern University as a shooting guard. After his career at Southern was over, Murphy was selected in the 1980 NBA draft in the third round (62nd overall) by the Kansas City Kings, although he never made the team's final roster and, consequently, never played professional basketball. Murphy grew up in Paterson, New Jersey and played basketball at Eastside High School, where he was named as the player of the year in his senior season by ''The Record'' / ''Herald News''.Tony Murphy

Anthony John Murphy (born 6 August 1962) is a former English cricketer. Murphy was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium-fast. He was born at Withington, Lancashire. First-class career Murphy made his first team debut in county cricket for Cheshire in the 1984 Minor Counties Championship against Shropshire, having previous to that played for the Lancashire Second XI. In 1985, Murphy made his first-class debut for Lancashire against Leicestershire. He played a further first-class match that season against Worcestershire, before embarking on a playing stint in New Zealand during the English winter. He played for Central districts during the 1985/86 New Zealand season, making three first-class appearances and making two List A appearances against Canterbury and Northern Districts in the 1985/86 Shell Cup. Tony Murphy (Gaelic Footballer)
Anthony Murphy (4 July 1950 – 13 October 2004) was an Irish Gaelic football player, selector, and administrator. He played for club side Carbery Rangers, divisional side Carbery and at the inter-county level with the Cork senior football team. Career Murphy first came to prominence as a member of the Carbery Rangers minor team that won three successive championships. His performances at the club level resulted in his inclusion on the Cork minor team that secured the All-Ireland title in 1968. Murphy progressed onto the Cork under-21 team and enjoyed three undefeated years at the provincial level before winning consecutive All-Ireland Under-21 Championships in 1970-71. By this stage, he had also been drafted onto the Cork senior team and made a number of appearances between 1971 and 1975. Murphy also won County Senior Championship titles with Carbery in 1968 and 1971 before ending his career with a number of divisional championship titles with Carbery Rangers. In retire ...
