Tony Moor
Anthony John Moor (born 18 January 1940) is an English former footballer who made 296 appearances playing as a goalkeeper in the Football League for York City and Darlington in the 1960s and 1970s. Before joining York City, he played non-league football for Scarborough. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The West Indian cricket team in England in 1973 played 17 first-class matches including three Tests. The team won the series against England by two matches to nil, with one drawn game. It also won the Prudential Trophy for the one-day series. The West Indies team The West Indies team was captained by Rohan Kanhai, who had succeeded Gary Sobers as captain for the Australian series in the West Indies the previous winter. The West Indies side had dropped back in form from its peak in the mid-1960s, with the retirement of its great fast bowlers Charlie Griffith and Wes Hall and some of its leading batsmen, such as Conrad Hunte and Basil Butcher. Canadian cricket tours of England have taken place only sporadically and few matches of first-class status have been played. 1880s The first two Canadian teams to visit England arrived in the 1880s. In the 1880 season they played 17 minor matches with a 5–6 win–loss record; while the 1887 team played 19 minor matches with a 5/5 record. Inter-war period The next visit was after World War I in the 1922 season when the Canadians played 11 minor matches, won none and lost four. The 1936 team fared much better: they won 7 and lost only 1 with 7 drawn, all the games again being minor. First-class matches in 1954 In the 1954 season, the Canadians played 15 matches in all, and four of them were first-class.
