Tony Martin (comedian)
Anthony Francis Martin (born 10 June 1964) is a New Zealand comedian, writer and actor, who has had a successful TV, radio, stand-up and film career in Australia. Career 1980s A former stand-up comedian and commercial voice-over-man, Tony Martin moved to Brisbane, Australia, from New Zealand when he was 21 to work as a radio copywriter. Having worked in radio and amateur theatre back in NZ, Martin approached the ABCTV's '' The D-Generation'' in 1986 to work as a writer only to be told that filming on the first series had been completed. In the interim, he was invited to work as a researcher on ABC-TV's '' The Gillies Republic'' which was the follow-up to the highly successful political satire ''The Gillies Report'' (1984–85). The show was not a success but Martin learnt a considerable amount from the production's mistakes, and made his Australian TV debut as 'Man in Bad Suit' in episode 4. Te Kūiti
Te Kūiti is a town in the north of the King Country region of the North Island of New Zealand. Peter Nicholson (born 1946) is an Australian political cartoonist, caricaturist and sculptor. He has won five Walkley Awards. Nicholson has also produced animated political cartoons for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the TV series '' Fast Forward'', and was involved in the Rubbery Figures television series. Santo Luigi Cilauro (born 25 November 1961) is an Australian comedian, television and feature film producer, screenwriter, actor, author and cameraman who is also a co-founder of ''The D-Generation''. ''Rush'' is an Australian television series produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation between 1974 and 1976. The first 13 episodes were produced in 1974 and filmed in black and white. In 1976, 13 more episodes were produced, in colour, in conjunction with French public broadcaster Antenne 2. Each series featured a different cast with the exception of John Waters. ''Bluey'' is an Australian television series made by Crawford Productions for the Seven Network in 1976. The series was a police drama from Crawford Productions, but was different from many of their previous series—''Homicide'', ''Division 4'' and ''Matlock Police''—in that it focused on a single detective rather than an ensemble, and that the characters were not stock standard archetypes usually seen in police dramas. Stand-up comedian Lucky Grills was cast as the titular Detective Sergeant 'Bluey' Hills who, in contrast to the relatively straight detectives seen in Crawford's previous shows, was obese, drank heavily (even on duty), smoked heavily, visited local prostitutes, and would often enact physical violence on criminals. ''The Late Show'' is a popular Australian comedy sketch and satire show, which ran for two seasons on the ABC. It aired weekly on Saturday nights from 18 July 1992 to 30 October 1993. Cast ''The Late Show'' has its roots in the 1980s comedy group, '' The D-Generation''. Consisting mostly of Melbourne University students, ''The D-Generation'' managed to gain a cult following with their radio and TV appearances. After the breakup of the original '' The D-Generation'', some of the members went on to perform on the commercial TV programme '' Fast Forward''. Michael Molloy (born 11 July 1966) is an Australian comedian, writer, producer, actor and television and radio presenter who has been active in radio, television, stand-up and film. Robert Ian Sitch (born 17 March 1962) is an Australian filmmaker, actor and comedian.
