Tony Jardine
Anthony Thomas Jardine (born 5 March 1952) is an English rally driver, motorsport pundit and former Formula One (F1) assistant team manager. He has done broadcasting work as an F1 pit lane reporter for the BBC and as a pundit for ITV in its television coverage of the sport from 1997 to 2005. Jardine has worked with the Brabham, McLaren and Team Lotus teams and run his own sports public relations company. He has competed in rallies on both an amateur and a semi-professional basis. Early life Jardine was born on 5 March 1952, at Oxford Street Maternity Hospital in Liverpool. He is the son of the Royal Navy pilot Eric Percy Jardine. Bebington () is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside, England. Historic counties of England, Historically part of Cheshire, it is south of Liverpool, close to the River Mersey on the eastern side of the Wirral Peninsula. Formula One Coverage On ITV
ITV held the broadcasting rights for the Formula One coverage in the United Kingdom between 8 March 1997 and 2 November 2008. ITV gained the rights for Formula One coverage for 1997 in late 1995 from the BBC and focused on more in-depth coverage, conducting more interviews and gaining access to better camera angles. The coverage was initially presented by Jim Rosenthal with veteran commentator Murray Walker and former racing driver Martin Brundle being the initial commentators before Walker's retirement after the 2001 United States Grand Prix and was succeeded by pit-lane reporter James Allen. Rosenthal left in 2005 and was succeeded by Steve Rider who presented the coverage until ITV ceased to broadcast Formula One after 2008. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport Race track, circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Tyrrell 026
The Tyrrell 026 was the car with which the Tyrrell team competed in the 1998 Formula One World Championship and was the final Tyrrell car to compete in F1. Background Ownership by British American Tobacco (BAT) 1998 was Tyrrell's final year in F1, as Ken Tyrrell had sold the team to British American Racing prior to the first race. Paul Stoddart had almost bought the team prior to BAR's takeover, but the BAR deal had already been finalized. Stoddart's European Aviation sponsored the team and provided transportation during the season. Wales Rally GB was the most recent iteration of the United Kingdom's premier international rallying, motor rally, which ran under various names since the first event held in 1932. It was consistently a round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar from the inaugural 1973 World Rally Championship, 1973 season until the rally's final running in 2019, and was also frequently included in the British Rally Championship. The first rallies in the 1930s were simply known as Royal Automobile Club, Royal Automobile Club (RAC) Rallies and did not necessarily require leaving England. Arctic Rally, currently Arctic Lapland Rally and also known as Tunturiralli, is an annual rallying, rally competition held on ice- and snow-covered roads in Rovaniemi, Lapland (Finland), Lapland, Finland. Datsun
Datsun (, ) was a Japanese automobile manufacturer brand owned by Nissan. Datsun's original production run began in 1931. From 1958 to 1986, only vehicles exported by Nissan were identified as Datsun. Nissan phased out the Datsun brand in March 1986, but relaunched it in June 2013 as the brand for low-cost vehicles manufactured for emerging markets.
