Tony Dean (Canadian Public Servant)
Anthony Alexander Dean, (born August 19, 1953) is a Canadian senator and former Ontario civil servant. He was secretary of the Cabinet, head of the Ontario Public Service and the clerk of the Executive Council from 2002 to 2008. Dean received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and social anthropology from University of Hull and a Master of Arts degree in sociology from McMaster University. He worked for ten years in the public sector in collective bargaining before joining the Ontario Public Service in 1989. He was Deputy Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister and Associate Secretary of Cabinet, Policy. In 2002, he was appointed by Ontario Premier Ernie Eves Secretary of the Cabinet and Clerk of the Executive Council. Dean retired in 2008 and became a professor at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. Ernie Eves
Ernest Larry Eves (born June 17, 1946) is a Canadian lawyer and former politician who served as the 23rd premier of Ontario from 2002 to 2003. A Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Progressive Conservative, he took over the premiership upon Mike Harris's resignation as party leader, but the party was defeated in the 2003 Ontario general election, 2003 election by the Ontario Liberal Party, Liberals, under Dalton McGuinty. Eves was born in Windsor, Ontario, to a working-class family. He studied law at Osgoode Hall Law School and practised law in his own firm, Green & Eves. Andromache Karakatsanis
Andromache Karakatsanis (born October 3, 1955) is a Canadian jurist. She was nominated to the Supreme Court of Canada by Stephen Harper in October 2011. She is the first Greek-Canadian judge on the Court. Since the retirement of Rosalie Abella on July 1, 2021, and of Michael Moldaver on September 1, 2022 (he took office the same day as Karakatsanis), she is the longest-serving member of the Supreme Court. Early life Karakatsanis was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Greek parents, and raised with an emphasis on her Greek heritage.
