Tonk Assembly Constituency
Tonk is a constituency of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly covering the city of Tonk in the Tonk district of Rajasthan, India. Tonk is one of eight assembly constituencies in the Tonk–Sawai Madhopur (Lok Sabha constituency). Since 2008, this assembly constituency is numbered 96 amongst 200 constituencies. Currently this seat belongs to the INC candidate Sachin Pilot, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan who won in 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election by defeating BJP candidate Yunus Khan, who was the transport minister in Vasundhara Raje government, by a margin of 54,179 votes. Sachin Pilot
Captain Sachin Rajesh Pilot (born 7 September 1977) is an Indian politician. A member of the Indian National Congress, he has been serving as Member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Tonk since 2018. He has previously served as Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Corporate Affairs and Communication and IT in the Government of India under Manmohan Singh. Additionally he served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 2018 to 2020 under Ashok Gehlot. Pilot became the youngest citizen of India to become Member of Parliament at the age of 26. Pilot was born to late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot and Rama Pilot. He was previously a member of the Indian Parliament for Ajmer in 2009 and Dausa constituencies of Rajasthan, becoming the youngest member of parliament when he was elected from the latter seat in 2004, aged 26. 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Rajasthan on 1 December 2013. Results were announced on 8 December. The incumbent ruling party Indian National Congress, led by the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, lost the elections to Vasundhara Raje-led BJP, who was being touted as the next incumbent. Pre-poll surveys Election Polling was held on 1 December in 198 assembly seats out of 200 seats. Churu constituency polling was postponed to 13 December due to death of BSP candidate Jagdish Meghwal. Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) along with EVMs was used in 1 assembly seat in Rajasthan elections. There were 2,087 candidates including 166 women and one eunuch candidate.
