''Tonight We Raid Calais'' is a 1943 American film directed by John Brahm and starring John Sutton, Lee J. Cobb, and Annabella. Plot summary Geoffrey Carter ( John Sutton), a young commando British intelligence officer, is sent into Nazi-occupied France as a one-man raid to destroy a munitions plant with help from a patriotic farmer, M. John Brahm
John Brahm (August 17, 1893 – October 12, 1982) was a German film and television director. His films include ''The Undying Monster'' (1942), ''The Lodger (1944 film), The Lodger'' (1944), ''Hangover Square (film), Hangover Square'' (1945), ''The Locket (1946 film), The Locket'' (1946), ''The Brasher Doubloon'' (1947), and the 3-D film, 3D horror film, ''The Mad Magician'' (1954). Early life Brahm was born Hans Brahm in Hamburg, the son of actor Ludwig Brahm and his wife. His family was involved in theater; his paternal uncle was theatrical impresario Otto Brahm. Career Brahm started his career in the theatre as an actor. After World War I, he traveled and worked among the cities of Vienna, Berlin and Paris, which had the most artistic cultures of the time. Richard Derr (June 15, 1917 – May 8, 1992) was an American actor who worked on stage, screen, and television, performing in both starring and supporting roles. Early years Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Derr graduated from Norristown High School in 1933. While he worked as a bank clerk, he acted with a little theater group in Norristown. Stage A life member of The Actors Studio, Derr landed the majority of his leading roles on stage. In 1955, he sang in the lead role in the Broadway musical ''Plain and Fancy''.
