Tonga At The Rugby World Cup
The Tonga national rugby union team has played in all Rugby World Cup tournaments, except in 1991, when they did not qualify. Their best performances were in the 2007 and 2011 tournaments, when they won two matches. Their best single match win was an upset victory in 2011 over eventual finalists France. Siua Taumalolo (born 8 July 1976 in Nukualofa, Tonga) is a f former rugby union player. His former teams include Bristol in the Guinness Premiership. Commonly referred to as Josh, he spent several years in Welsh rugby, playing for Ebbw Vale RFC before joining Bridgend RFC in 2000. He was a member of the Bridgend team which won the final Welsh Premier Division before the restructuring of Welsh rugby in 2003. After this restructuring, Taumololo played for Harlequins for a year, and following their relegation, moved to Sale Sharks before returning to play in the now semi-professional Welsh Premier Division with Neath RFC. He signed for Bristol from Neath in the Summer of 2006 on a one-year contract but was renewed after assured performances. Andrew Philip Mehrtens (born 28 April 1973) is a New Zealand former rugby union player. He was regarded as a top first five-eighth, having played first for Canterbury in 1993, before being selected for the All Blacks (New Zealand's national team) in 1995 when he played in the 1995 World Cup. After his move to England, and later to France, he helped his first three clubs to promotion into their country's top flight. Josh Kronfeld
Joshua Adrian Kronfeld (born 20 June 1971) is a TV presenter and a former rugby union footballer who represented New Zealand at international level and Otago, the Highlanders and Leicester at first-class level. During his international career, Kronfeld played in 56 games for the All Blacks, gaining 54 test caps, including appearances at both the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups. Kronfeld played as an openside flanker, and his greatest attribute was considered to be the speed with which he was able to get to breakdowns in play, in order to gain or regain possession of the ball. Norman Michael Clifford Maxwell (born 5 March 1976 in Rawene, New Zealand) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. His usual position was at lock. He initially played for the Hora Hora club and Northland. On moving to Christchurch his club was Linwood and he played for Canterbury in the NPC and he also represented Crusaders in the Super 12 rugby competition. Byron Terence Kelleher (born 3 December 1976 in Dunedin, New Zealand) is a former rugby union scrum-half who played for Stade Toulouse in the French Top 14 and has played 57 tests for the All Blacks. He was a very aggressive player, who specialized in pick-and-go techniques.
