Tone Vigeland
Tone Vigeland (born 6 August 1938) is a Norwegian goldsmith/silversmith and jewellery designer. Personal life Vigeland was born in Oslo to painter Per Vigeland and Randi Helleberg, and is a granddaughter of painter Emanuel Vigeland. Career She has studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry. She is represented in galleries worldwide, including the European Victoria and Albert Museum, Pinakothek der Moderne and Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, New York City museums Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Art and Design, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She was awarded the Prince Eugen Medal in 1988, and was decorated Commander of the Order of St. Olav in 1996. Emanuel Vigeland
Emanuel Vigeland (2 December 1875 – 22 December 1948) was a multitalented Norwegian artist. He is known for a variety of decorations of Scandinavian churches and for ''Tomba Emmanuelle'', his mausoleum at Slemdal in Oslo. His elder brother was sculptor, Gustav Vigeland. Background August Emanuel Vigeland was born in Halse og Harkmark in Mandal, Vest-Agder county. Vigeland was born to a family of craftsmen. His parents were Elesæus Thorsen (1835–1886), a cabinetmaker and Anne Aanensdatter (1835–1907). In autumn 1894, he went to Oslo as a student at the Norwegian National Academy. In the spring of 1897 he debuted at the National art exhibition. Vigeland went to Copenhagen in the autumn of 1898 and was a student of Peder Severin Krøyer at Den Frie Studieskole. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
