Tommy Hakin
John Thomas Hakin (17 October 1882 – 1950) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Grimsby Town between 1906 and 1908. An inside left, he joined Grimsby from Midland League club Mexborough Town. On leaving the club he spent the 1908–09 season playing in the Southern League and the Western League for Plymouth Argyle, and later played for Portsmouth and Rotherham County Rotherham County F.C. was an English football club based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Mexborough
Mexborough is a town in the City of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. Situated between Manvers and Denaby Main, it lies on the River Don close to where it joins the River Dearne, and the A6023 road runs through the town. Midland Football League (1889)
The Midland Football League was a semi-professional football league in England. It acted as a feeder league to the Football League for many years before merging with the Yorkshire League in 1982 to form the Northern Counties East League. History Founded in 1889, only one year after the Football League, the Midland League was the second league for professional clubs to be formed. Eleven clubs participated in the first season, 1889–90, four of whom (including the first champions, Lincoln City) would go on to achieve Football League status. Western Football League
The Western Football League is a football league in South West England, covering Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, western Dorset, parts of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. The league's current main sponsor is Toolstation, so it is also known as the Toolstation League.
