Tomigusuku Seijō
is a city located in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 October 2020, the city has an estimated population of 64,612 and a population density of 3,297 persons per km2. The total area is 19.25 km2. On April 1, 2002, the administrative status of Tomigusuku was changed from village (Japanese: 村; son) to city (Japanese: 市; shi). Until then it had been the largest village in Japan. Geography Tomigusuku is located along the western coast, on the southern part of Okinawa Island, facing the East China Sea. It is broadly rectangular, extending east-west, with Naha City on the north. The Noha River runs westward in the central part of the city, and then turns northward and pours into Lake Man. The city includes the island of Senaga, located about 600 m offshore of Senaga Village. It used to be inhabited before the war but became deserted after the war. Lake Man
is an area of wetlands in Okinawa that is located between the cities of Naha and Tomigusuku, and within Manko Park. Despite being called "Lake Man", it is in fact a wetland and not a lake. Lake Man covers . Lake Man is close to Naha Port, located at the confluence of the lower reaches of the Kokuba River and the Noha River, to the south of Naha. Travelers from outside Okinawa Prefecture, en route from Naha Airport to the city Naha, cross this estuary, with the left side commanding a view of Lake Man. The Manko Waterbird and Wetland Center is located next to the wetland area and provides information and activities related to the area, as well as a boardwalk into the wetlands. Speed (Japanese Band)
Speed (stylized in all caps) was a Japanese female vocal/dance group comprising Hiroko Shimabukuro, Eriko Imai, Takako Uehara and Hitoe Arakaki. All four members are former students of the Okinawa Actors School which also trained popular artists Namie Amuro and MAX. Speed made their major label debut on August 5, 1996, and became an immediate success. They would eventually become the most successful girl group anywhere in Asia with sales of over 20 million singles and albums in just three years and eight months. They disbanded on March 31, 2000, to pursue solo careers and to study. Takako Uehara
is a Japanese pop singer, actress, and former radio host. She was a member of the group Speed. Uehara was born in Okinawa, Japan. Kamejiro Senaga
was a politician, journalist, also Mayor of Naha city. Senaga was an outspoken critic of American oppression on Okinawa and was imprisoned by American military authorities for sheltering Communists. is a Japanese basketball coach and former player. He is currently the U15 coach of the Shiga Lakestars in the Japanese B.League. Early life Nema was born in Okinawa, Japan, in 1979.
