Tomas Von Brömssen
Tomas Birger von Brömssen (born 8 May 1943) is a Swedish actor. He played leading roles in ''Albert & Herbert'', ''My Life as a Dog'' ( sv, Mitt liv som hund), ' (English title ''Baltic Sea'', ''Salvation'' or ''The Diver''), Mannen från Mallorca (English title ''The Man from Majorca'') and ''Sofies verden'' (English title ''Sophie's World''). Together with Lars-Eric Brossner, he wrote the 2003 play ''The Story of the Little Gentleman'', based on Barbro Lindgren's book ''The Story of the Little Old Man''. He was first married to Eva von Brömssen from 1966 to 2000 (her death). He remarried on 21 November 2004 to the scientist Dorte Velling Pedersen, close friend to his first wife Eva. ''My Life as a Dog'' ( sv, Mitt liv som hund) is a Swedish drama film which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 12 December 1985, directed by Lasse Hallström. It is based on the second novel of a semi-autobiographical trilogy by Reidar Jönsson. It tells the coming-of-age story of Ingemar, a young boy sent to live with relatives. The cast includes Anton Glanzelius, Melinda Kinnaman, and Tomas von Brömssen. In 1987, the film was released in the United States where it became a surprise hit. ''The Man from Majorca'' ( sv, Mannen från Mallorca) is a 1984 Swedish crime thriller film directed by Bo Widerberg. It is based on the novel ''The Pig Party'' by Leif G. W. Persson. The film stars Sven Wollter and Tomas von Brömssen. The novel has big similarities with the Geijer affair (a rumor that the Swedish minister of justice had been with prostitutes, that the Swedish police had knowledge of it and had informed the prime minister). Leif G.W. Persson lost his job at the police because talking to a journalist about his knowledge about the Geijer case, but denied in the preface of the book (''Grisfesten'') which he wrote soon after, that it had any connections to the affair. Barbro Lindgren (born 18 March 1937) is a Swedish writer of children's books and books for adult readers.
