Tomas Martinec
Tomáš Martinec (born 5 March 1976) is a retired Czech-German ice hockey player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 2006 Winter Olympics. In 2019 he became the head coach of EA Steiermark U18 of the EBJL in Austria His father is Vladimír Martinec Vladimír Martinec (born 22 December 1949) is a Czech former ice hockey player. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Czech Extraliga
The Czech Extraliga () is the highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic. It was created in 1993 following the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia midway through the 1992–93 Czechoslovak Extraliga season (which all Slovak and Czech teams played to completion). The league's season usually takes place between September and April and features 14 teams. Teams from the ELH participate in the IIHF's annual European tournament in the CHL. HC Bohemex Trade Opava
HC Slezan Opava is an ice hockey team in the Second National Hockey League (third-level league) from Opava. The club was founded in 1945. As soon as in 1951, Slezan was promoted to the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League and played there until 1953. Slezan Opava played in the top-level league also two seasons in 1957 and 1960. In the Czech Republic, the club was promoted to the elite Czech Extraliga in 1996, after it won the promotion play-offs. The club had financial difficulties and sold the license for Extraliga in 1999 to HC Havířov. From the 1999/2000 season the club played the First National Hockey League (second-level league) but was relegated in the 2004/2005 season to the Second National Hockey League (third-level league). The 2nd Eishockey-Bundesliga was the second tier of Ice hockey in Germany until 2012/13 and has since been replaced by DEL2. The 1995–96 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 2nd season of the (German Ice Hockey League). As a replacement for the Maddogs München, the SC Riessersee moved up from the 2nd Bundesliga. 1994–95 DEL Season
The 1994–95 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the inaugural season of the (German Ice Hockey League). The (Cologne Sharks) won the first DEL season to become German Champions. The first season 1994–95 started with 18 teams, twelve from the old 1st Bundesliga, six from the 2nd Bundesliga. The new league immediately attracted corporate sponsorship with the Krombacher Brewery featuring a prominent spot on the league logo. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play.
