Tom Tom Tom
Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1973 with the song "Tom Tom Tom", written by Rauno Lehtinen and Bob Barratt, and performed by Marion Rung. The Finnish participating broadcaster, (Yle), selected its entry through a national final. Before Eurovision National final (Yle) held the Finnish national final on 3 February at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. The show was hosted by Apeli Halinen. The winner was chosen by a professional jury consisting of ten members. Each juror awarded 1 to 10 points for each song. The best and worst points received by each song were ignored in the voting. Highest and lowest score received by each song were ignored and they are strikethrough. Marion Rung
Marion Rung (born 7 December 1945) is a Finland, Finnish pop singer. She is known for having represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1962 and 1973. Her 1962 Eurovision song placed 7th, and in 1973, she managed to bring Finland's second best result in the contest until 2006 by finishing in 6th place. She also won the Grand Prix of the Sopot International Song Festival in 1974 and the Intervision Song Contest 1980 with "Where is the Love." Life Born in 1945, in Helsinki, Rung is Jews in Finland, Jewish, and she is of Russians in Finland, Russian descent through her mother, Rosa Manulkin, and of Poles in Finland, Polish descent through her father, Oscar Rung. Sammy Babitzin
Aleksandr "Sammy" Babitzin (11 July 1948 – 29 April 1973) was a Finnish popular music singer, the brother of Kirka and Muska. Babitzin was born into a Russian family in Helsinki, and he was of partial German-Russian descent through his mother. He started his professional career in a band called The Stealers. Its line-up also included Remu Aaltonen. Babitzin sang in the group of Leo Lindblom under the pseudonym "Sammy-boy". Sammy Babitzin released his first single in 1966. Many of his songs were duets recorded together with his brother. Babitzin won the "Syksyn Sävel" song contest (MTV3) in 1972 with the song "Daa-da daa-da". The Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was the 51st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Lordi () is a Finnish Rock music, rock band. Formed in 1992 by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume maker Mr Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu), Lordi are known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. The band rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single "Would You Love a Monsterman?", and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". Heikki Veli Uolevi Sarmanto (born 22 June 1939) is a Finnish jazz pianist and composer. Sarmanto was born in Helsinki, Finland, and began to play jazz during the 1960s. He studied first at the Sibelius Academy and later at the Berklee College of Music in Boston between 1968 and 1971. Jukka Jalmari Virtanen (25 July 1933 – 1 September 2019) was a Finnish entertainer and author. He worked as both a film and television director, actor and host. He was also an accomplished songwriter. Starting originally as a newspaper columnist, Virtanen began his television career in the 1950s and his film career in the 1960s. He won the Rose d'Or in 1965 for the entertainment program Lumilinna (The Cold Old Days).
