Tom Karp
Thomas Karp (born October 13, 1946) is an American former professional tennis player. Biography Karp played tennis for University High School. Stan Smith beat him in the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament 1964 Boys’ High School final. Karp, a top-10 nationally ranked junior from Los Angeles, represented the U.S. Junior Davis Cup team and during the late 1960s played for the UCLA Bruins in varsity tennis. He earned All-American honors for the Bruins in 1968, during which year he was co-captain of the team. His professional career included an appearance in the singles main draw of the 1973 Wimbledon Championships. At the 1969 Maccabiah Games in Israel, he and partner Peter Fishbach were defeated by American Davis Cup player Allen Fox and Ronald Goldman in the semifinals. 1973 Wimbledon Championships – Men's Singles
Jan Kodeš defeated Alex Metreveli in the final, 6–1, 9–8(7–5), 6–3 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1973 Wimbledon Championships. Allen Fox
Allen E. Fox (born June 25, 1939) is an American former tennis player in the 1960s and 1970s who went on to be a college coach and author. He was ranked as high as U.S. No. 4 in 1962, and was in the top ten in the U.S. five times between 1961 and 1968. In 1960, he won the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) doubles title with Larry Nagler for the University of California at Los Angeles. In 1961, Fox won the NCAA singles title. In 1962 he won the US National Hard Court title. He won a gold medal in singles at the 1965 Maccabiah Games in Israel. At the 1969 Maccabiah Games he won gold medals in singles and doubles. Fox was elected to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Hall of Fame, the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, the Southern California Tennis Association Hall of Fame, and the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame. Nicola "Nicky" Pietrangeli (; born 11 September 1933) is a former Italian tennis player. He won two singles titles at the French Championships and is considered by many to be Italy's greatest tennis champion. Biography Born 11 September 1933, in Tunis, Tunisia, Pietrangeli made his international debut at the 1952 Italian Open, losing in fours sets to Jacques Peten. He appeared in four men's singles finals at Roland Garros – winning the title in 1959 and 1960, and finishing runner-up in 1961 and 1964. He also won the Roland Garros men's doubles title in 1959 (together with Orlando Sirola), and the mixed doubles in 1958.
