Sir Thomas Jones Woodward (born Thomas John Woodward; 7 June 1940) is a Welsh singer. His career began with a string of top 10 hits in the 1960s and he has since toured regularly, with appearances in Las Vegas from 1967 to 2011. John Tom Jones (December 6, 1923 – July 14, 2014) was an American football player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Troy State University—now known as Troy University—from 1972 to 1973, compiling a record of 11–7–2. He was also the athletic director at Troy State from 1972 to 1974. Jones was hired at Troy State after coaching the freshman football team at Auburn University for six seasons. Earl Thomas Jones (April 26, 1943 – May 29, 2015) was an American racing driver, born in Dallas, Texas. He entered his own Cooper T82 in one Formula One race, the 1967 Canadian Grand Prix. After a promising practice performance, he suffered electrical problems during qualifying and only set one very slow lap time. The stewards denied him a place on the grid on the grounds that he was "too slow", even though he had been competitive in practice runs. Until quite recently Jones was considered one of Formula One's great obscurities, but it has since emerged that he raced on and off throughout the 1970s in various series before retiring in 1980. Lt. Thomas Charles Jones (1 April 1901 – 19 July 1935) was a Welsh cricketer. Jones was a left-handed batsman. He was born at Pontypool, Monmouthshire. Jones made his first-class status debut for Glamorgan in 1925 against Somerset. He played one further first-class match during that season against Gloucestershire. His final first-class match for Glamorgan came against Warwickshire in 1928. In his brief first-class career, he scored 36 runs at a batting average of 6.00 and a high score of 21. Outside of cricket, Jones was a lieutenant in the British Army, which limited his appearances in first-class cricket. Jones died at Westminster, London on 19 July 1935. Thomas Jones (June 21, 1874 – June 19, 1923) was an American baseball player. He played professional baseball, principally as a first baseman, from 1902 to 1915, including eight years in Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles (1902), St. Louis Browns (1904–1909), and Detroit Tigers (1909–1910). He compiled a .251 career batting average (baseball), batting average in 813 major league games. He was one of the best defensive first basemen of his era. He led all American League players, regardless of position, with 487 Out (baseball), outs made in 1904 and 1,616 putouts in 1908. Tom Jones (born 7 October 1964) is an English football coach and former player who played as a midfielder. Career After starting his career with Weymouth he was signed by Aberdeen, and played 28 league games for them in 1987–88. Jones then moved to Swindon Town, playing his first Football League game for them in 1988–89. He went on to make 168 league appearances for Swindon, before moving to Reading. After 79 league matches for Reading he moved to Woking. He then played a season for Forest Green Rovers, before playing four years at Swindon Supermarine and ending his active career at Shrivenham. In 1999 during his time at Swindon Supermarine Jones was persuaded by Swindon Town manager Jimmy Quinn to become youth coach at the club. Jones left the position in 2000 when Quinn was sacked.
