Tom Hafey
Thomas Stanley Raymond Hafey (5 August 1931 – 12 May 2014) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He then became one of the VFL's longest-serving and most successful coaches, guiding Richmond to four VFL premierships before also having stints at , and finally .Hafey was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 1996, named coach of Richmond's team of the century in 1998, and given the AFL Coaches Association "Coaching Legend Award" in 2011. He was renowned for his fitness and toughness even in his elderly years when he would still run rings around his juniors. 1966 VFL Season
The 1966 VFL season was the 70th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 23 April until 24 September, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the St Kilda Football Club, after it defeated by one point in the VFL Grand Final. It was St Kilda's first, and to date only premiership, making it the last of the eight foundation clubs to win a premiership. Graeme Richmond
Graeme Richmond (27 January 1934 – 15 September 1991) was a long time administrator of the Richmond Football Club. Recruited from Geelong College, he played mainly as a defender in Richmond Football Club, Richmond's Thirds from 1951 to 1953. He captained this side and won its Best & Fairest in 1952. He also played 13 games for the Richmond Football Club, Richmond Seconds side in 1952 and 1953. His playing career ended with a serious knee injury but he went on to coach the Richmond Football Club, Richmond Under 17s in 1960 and Under 19s in 1961 and 1962. He served as Club Secretary from 1962 until 1968, then as Club Treasurer from 1968 to 1969. He was a member of the Richmond Football Club Committee from 1970 through to 1986 and was Vice-President from 1979 until 1983. Alan McDonald (Australian Rules Footballer)
Alan Joseph McDonald (23 June 1918 – 2 May 1999) was an Australian rules football player who played in the VFL between 1939 and 1941 and then again in 1943 for the Richmond Football Club. Recruited from Dumbalk, in the South Gippsland Football League, where his father was captain-coach in 1939 at the age of 58 and he had three brothers who all played with Dumbalk too. McDonald played a fine game in Richmond's losing 1940 VFL Grand Final loss to Melbourne. After World War II McDonald played two seasons for Camberwell in the VFA. He then coached South Bendigo from 1947 to 1956, which included five Bendigo Football League premierships in 1950, 1951, 1954, 1955 and 1956. Ron Branton
Ronald Branton (10 June 1933 – 30 May 2024) was an Australian rules football player who played in the VFL between 1953 and 1962 for the Richmond Football Club. A rover from Maryborough, he won the best first year player in 1953, as well as the leading goalkicker award in his first two seasons. He is the only player to have won the Jack Dyer Medal in three consecutive years.
