Tom Brownlee (actor)
Thomas Courtney Brownlee (21 May 1935 – 16 December 2018) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a centre forward. Brownlee's career started at Broxburn Athletic before he moved to England, with Walsall. His career then took him to York City, Workington in an exchange deal with Gus Alexander, non-league Netherfield and Bradford City, where he was the club's top goal-scorer in 1964–65 scoring 14 goals in just 18 games. After just seven games the following season he returned to Netherfield. Carnwath
Carnwath (Gaelic: ''A' Chathair Nuadh''; English: "New Fort") is a moorland village on the southern edge of the Pentland Hills of South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The village lies about south of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is bounded by the North Medwyn and South Medwyn watercourses. History Carnwath stands about a mile north of the old Roman road connecting forts in Tweeddale with those on the Clyde. The former castle of Carnwath is believed to date to the mid 12th-century built under the orders of William de Sommerville (who died 1160). However, the only remains are the motte which is visible beside the Carnwath Golf Club (founded 1907), at the west end of the village. However, the motte is described as ''"the most impressive Norman earthwork to survive in Lanarkshire."'' The motte today is a scheduled ancient monument. Gus Alexander
Angus Charles Alexander (10 January 1934 – 3 January 2010) was a Scottish footballer who played as a wing half. He joined Burnley in 1950 as an amateur, signing as a professional a year later. He made no first team appearances for Burnley after leaving for Southport in 1957. After less than a year at Southport, he moved to Workington, where he made nearly 50 league appearances. A move to York City saw him finish his Football League career, where he made seven appearances. After retiring from football, Alexander worked in the steel industry for a number of years before retiring in the 1990s. Career Born in Arbroath, Angus, Alexander started his career with Arbroath YC before joining Burnley as an amateur on 5 July 1950 and signing a professional contract on 25 January 1951. In the sport of association football, a forward (attacker or striker) is an outfield position which primarily plays further up the pitch than midfielders and defenders. As with any attacking player, the role of the forward relies heavily on being able to create space for attack. Their advanced position and limited defensive responsibilities mean forwards normally score more goals on behalf of their team than other players.
