Regions Of Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is divided into 17 regions ( kk, облыстар/''oblystar''; singular: облыс/''oblys''; russian: области/''oblasti''; singular: область/''oblast). Turkistan Region
Turkistan Region (), formerly South Kazakhstan Region ( kk, Оңтүстік Қазақстан облысы, translit= Oñtüstık Qazaqstan oblysy) (russian: Южно-Казахстанская область, ') from 1992–2018 and Chimkent Region (russian: Чимкентская область, ') from 1963 to 1991 is the southernmost region of Kazakhstan. Lenger ( kk, Леңгір, ''Leñgır'', لەنگەر; russian: Ленгер) is a city in Tole Bi District, Turkistan Region of Kazakhstan. As of 2012 Lenger had a population of 25,298. Töle Biy
Töle Biy (also Tole Bi), or Töle Älibekūly ( kk, Төле би Әлібекұлы, ''Töle bi Älibekūly'') (1663, Köktuma Tract, now Alakol District, Kazakhstan - 1756, Aqburkhan-orda, now Tole Bi District, Kazakh Khanate) was the head biy of the Kazakh senior juz, as well as an author, orator, poet, politician and a public figure. He was born in Jaysan in what is now Shuy district, Jambyl oblast in 1663. Biography Töle Biy comes from the Kazakh tribe Dulat, subtribe Zhanys, in the family of Alibek Biy. Alibek Biy's father, Qudaiberdy Biy was a Khan adviser of Esim Khan's and took part in the battle "Qataghan Qyrghyny" (lit. "Massacre of the Qataghan") (1627-1628), against the rebellious Khan Tursyn, then ruler of Tashkent. Töle was born in the Koktuma tract, the Alakol District. Koksayek Village
Koksaek (, Georgievka until 1994) is a village located in the Tole Bi District of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, and the administrative center of Koksaeksky rural district. History The original village of Georgievka was founded in the 1890s along with the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious, erected in 1896. In 1945-1956 Georgievka was the center of the Georgievsky district. In 1994, the village was renamed Koksaek. Etymology Many residents and historians associate the old name of the village Georgievka with the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious, which was built in the village at the expense of parishioners. There is also another version that the descendants of the first settlers of the village claim that there was a land surveyor Georgy, who honestly measured the land to the settlers.
