Cannabis, also known as marijuana among other names, is a psychoactive drug from the cannabis plant. Native to Central or South Asia, the cannabis plant has been used as a drug for both recreational and entheogenic purposes and in various traditional medicines for centuries. Cem Toker (born July 5, 1957), is a Turkish politician, businessman, economist and the former leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Turkey ('' tr, Liberal Demokrat Parti'', LDP). He was elected in the fourth ordinary party congress on June 20, 2005. Early life and career Toker was born in 1957 in Istanbul. The Liberal Democratic Party ( tr, Liberal Demokrat Parti, LDP) is a classical liberal party in Turkey. LDP was founded in 1994 as “''Liberal Parti”'' by Turkish entrepreneur Besim Tibuk. Tibuk was the advisor of Turkish President Turgut Özal until Özal died on 17 April 1993. After the death of Turgut Özal, Besim Tibuk decided to found a new party to emphasize the liberal movement in Turkey. Metin Toker
Metin Toker (1924 – 18 July 2002) was a Turkish journalist and writer. Life He was born in Istanbul. After finishing Galatasaray High School, he studied French philology at Istanbul University graduating in 1948. He then went to France to study Political Sciences. In 1955 after returning home, he married Özden İnönü, the daughter of İsmet İnönü, the second president of Turkey (in office 1938–1950) and the leader of the Republican People's Party. Metin Toker died on 18 July 2002 in Ibni Sina Hospital of Ankara University. He was laid to rest at the Cebeci Asri Cemetery in Ankara. He was survived by his wife, two daughters, Gülsün Bilgehan, Nurperi Özlen, a son Güçlü, and his grandchild named Maya. Toker Dam is the fourth largest dam in Eritrea. Construction was begun in 1997 and completed in 2001, despite having to be halted for a few months in 1998 when Ethiopia and Eritrea were at war. Its primary designer was Natural Resources Consulting Engineers from Colorado, USA. Furthermore, NRCE Inc., was the primary consultant on the project. The construction contractor was Keagnam of South Korea. The project was designed to provide modern and effective service to the City of Asmara and neighboring villages. It further provides safe drinking water for the local population. The dam is a roller compacted concrete dam, and was one of the highest in sub-Saharan Africa at the time it was built.
