Todd Harbour
Todd Harbour (born March 24, 1959) is a retired American middle and long-distance runner. Career Harbour competed collegiately for Baylor University, and later was the head track and field and cross-country coach at for 22 years, before retiring in 2021. In 1979, he won a silver medal in the 1500 metres at the Pan American Games in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He currently holds the collegiate record in the outdoor mile, when he ran 3:50.34 in Oslo in 1981 during his senior year. Port Isabel, Texas
Port Isabel is a city in Cameron County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas. The population was 5,006 at the 2010 census. The city's name is given to the Port Isabel Detention Center, to the northwest next to the Port Isabel-Cameron County Airport. History Established as a town after the Mexican War of Independence, Port Isabel became an important cotton-exporting port before the American Civil War. The harbor, town and lighthouse all were fought over and exchanged hands during the Civil War. In September 1967, Hurricane Beulah caused extensive damage to much of the city. 1979 Pan American Games
The 1979 Pan American Games (Spanish: ''Juegos Panamericanos de 1979''), officially the VIII Pan American Games were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, and were held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 1 to July 15, 1979. The 1980 documentary film ''A Step Away'' showcased a number of athletes competing in the Games. Southwest Conference
The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas. For most of its history, the core members of the conference were Texas-based schools plus one in Arkansas: Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, the University of Arkansas and the University of Texas at Austin.
