''Music for the Masses'' is the sixth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 28 September 1987 by Mute Records. Catherine Stock (1955–2004) was a British singer who had a top 20 single in 1986. Career She was the sister of record producer Mike Stock and in 1986 married songwriter Johnny Worth, who wrote the theme tune to the television series To Have And To Hold later in the year. Philipp Blom (born 1970) is a German historian, novelist, journalist and translator. Biography Blom was born in Hamburg, Germany, grew up in Detmold, and studied in Vienna and Oxford. A habendum clause is a clause in a deed or lease that defines the type of interest and rights to be enjoyed by the grantee or lessee. In a deed, a habendum clause usually begins with the words "to have and to hold". This phrase is the translation of the Latin that historically commenced these clauses in deeds. Technically speaking, the "to have" ( la, habendum, links=no) is separate from the "to hold" ( la, tenendum, links=no), such that the tenendum clause is sometimes considered a separate concept. Historically, the habendum clause dealt with "the quantity of interest or estate which the grantee was to have in the property granted", while the tenendum clause addressed "the tenure upon or under which it was to be held".
