Catherine Stock
Catherine Stock (1955–2004) was a British singer who had a top 20 single in 1986. Career She was the sister of record producer Mike Stock and in 1986 married songwriter Johnny Worth, who wrote the theme tune to the television series To Have And To Hold later in the year. Stock recorded a demo of the song as Worth intended Marti Webb to sing the final version, but, as contractual requirements prevented Webb from doing so, ITV simply used Stock's demo. The human voice consists of sound made by a human being using the vocal tract, including talking, singing, laughing, crying, screaming, shouting, humming or yelling. Middle of the road (also known by its acronym MOR) is a commercial radio format and popular music genre. Music associated with this term is strongly melodic and uses techniques of vocal harmony and light orchestral arrangements. The format was eventually rebranded as soft adult contemporary. Michael Stock (born 3 December 1951) is an English songwriter, record producer, musician, and member of the songwriting and production trio Stock Aitken Waterman. He has written and/or produced 18 No. 1 records in America and the UK, over a hundred top-40 hits and is recognised as one of the most successful songwriters of all time by the ''Guinness Book of Records''. As part of Stock Aitken and Waterman in the 1980s and 90s, he holds the UK record of 11 number one records with different acts. John Worsley (21 June 1931 – 6 August 2021), more widely known under the pseudonyms Les Vandyke and Johnny Worth, was an English popular music songwriter from the 1950s to the 1980s, who started his career as a singer. As "Les Vandyke", he wrote the UK No.1 hits "What Do You Want?", " Poor Me" (both for Adam Faith), and "Well I Ask You" (for Eden Kane). Marti Webb (born 13 December 1943) is an English actress and singer, who appeared on stage in '' Evita'', before starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber's one-woman show '' Tell Me on a Sunday'' in 1980.
