Tisoy!
''Tisoy!'' is a 1977 Philippine satirical comedy film directed by Ishmael Bernal from a story and screenplay written by Severino Marcelo that is based on his comic strip of the same name. The film stars Christopher de Leon, Jay Ilagan, Charo Santos, Bert "Tawa" Marcelo, and Lorli Villanueva, with the special participation of Nora Aunor, Bembol Roco, Hilda Koronel, and Elizabeth Oropesa. Produced by NV Productions, the film was theatrically released on April 30, 1977, and it is the first film where Christopher de Leon and Charo Santos paired up. In 2019, the film was digitally restored and remastered in 4K resolution by ABS-CBN Film Restoration, in partnership with Kantana Post-Production (Thailand). Ishmael Bernal
Ishmael Bernal (September 30, 1938 – June 2, 1996) was a Philippines, Filipino filmmaker, stage and television director, actor and screenwriter. Noted for his melodramas, particularly with feminist and moral issues, he directed many landmark Filipino films such as ''A Speck in the Water, Nunal sa Tubig'' (1976), ''Manila by Night, City After Dark'' (1980), ''Relasyon'' (1982), ''Himala'' (1982), and ''Hinugot sa Langit'' (1985). Dexter Doria is a Filipino veteran actress. She has appeared in more than 175 films and several television programs from ABS-CBN and GMA Network, often in supporting roles. Rafael Aranda Roco, Jr. (born November 20, 1953), professionally known as Bembol Roco, is a Filipino actor whose work ranges from films to television. He is best known for his role as Julio Madiaga in the 1975 film ''Manila in the Claws of Light'', which has since gained prominence as one of the greatest Philippine films of all time. ABS-CBN Film Restoration
ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project, also known as Sagip Pelikula, was a digital film restoration project of ABS-CBN Corporation in partnership with Central Digital Lab. Launched in 2011, the project was headed by Leo Katigbak of ABS-CBN Film Archives and Manet Dayrit of Central Digital Lab. The goal of the project was to digitally restore and remaster select Filipino films from the archives of ABS-CBN. The project digitized, restored, and remastered over 240 Philippine films into a 1080p or 2K Digital Cinema Package format with a maximum resolution of 2048x1080 pixels at 24 frames per second. These films have been released through a wide array of platforms including limited theatrical runs, film festivals, free-to-air and cable television, DVDs, pay per view, and over-the-top content platforms such as iTunes.
