Lana M. Tisdel (born May 28, 1975) is an American woman whose early life and involvement with the December 1993 murders of Brandon Teena, Lisa Lambert, and Phillip DeVine at the hands of John Lotter and Tom Nissen is chronicled in the 1998 documentary ''The Brandon Teena Story'' and the 1999 film '' Boys Don't Cry'' (which left out DeVine). She was portrayed in the film by Chloë Sevigny, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance. Background In the fall of 1993, Tisdel, aged 18, met Brandon Teena, 20, through their mutual friends. Brandon was new to the close-knit area, from Lincoln, Nebraska, and the local crowd was curious about him. Mark Tisdel (born September 21, 1955) is an American Republican politician from Michigan. He has been a member of the Michigan House of Representatives since 2021, currently representing the 55th district. Career For 22 years, Tisdel worked as principal with Backus Payne & Associates, specializing in medical-liability insurance. Political career Prior to his service in the Legislature, Tisdel served on the Rochester Hills City Council for eight years — four of those years as council president. He was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives from the 45th district in 2020. For the 2022 election cycle, he was redistricted into 55th district where he won a second term in office. Jeff Tisdel
Jeffrey Michael Tisdel (born January 10, 1956) is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Nevada, Reno from 1996 to 1999, compiling a record of 23–22. Tisdel has two stints as the head football coach at Sierra College, a junior college in Rocklin, California, from 2000 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2012. His accomplishments include coaching the Nevada Wolf Pack in its first NCAA Division I-A bowl game victory, in the 1996 Las Vegas Bowl, and leading Sierra to a nation-leading 37-game winning streak between 2002 and 2005. Tisdel was also the first quarterback for Nevada to play in Division I-AA, moving up from Division II in 1978 and the first quarterback to play for Chris Ault, who became a member of the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
