Marcus Tullius Tiro
Marcus Tullius Tiro (died 4 BC) was first a slave, then a freedman, of Cicero from whom he received his nomen and praenomen. He is frequently mentioned in Cicero's letters. After Cicero's death Tiro published his former master's collected works of letters and speeches. He also wrote a considerable number of books himself, and is thought to have invented an early form of shorthand. Life The year of Tiro's birth is uncertain. Groebe, in the ''Realencyclopädie'', places it at 103 BC per a statement in Jerome that Tiro died in his hundredth year; this dating, however, is unlikely given that Cicero's letters imply that he was much younger. Moreover, because valuable slaves usually received their freedom within a few years, Kathryn Tempest in the ''Encyclopedia of Ancient History'', along with William McDermott in ''Historia'', place his birth . Abram Onkgopotse Tiro
Onkgopotse Tiro (9 November 1945 – 1 February 1974) was a South African student activist and black consciousness militant. He was born in Dinokana, a small village near Zeerust. He was expelled from the University of the North (now known as University of Limpopo) in 1972 for his political activities. At university he had become an active member of the South African Student Organisation, out of which the Black Consciousness Movement grew. After his expulsion from the then University of the North in 1972, following his scathing critique of the Bantu Education Act of 1953, he went on to teach history at Morris Isaacson High School near and around Central Western Jabavu (CWJ) in Soweto in 1973. Tsietsi Mashinini, who was an integral part of the 1976 student uprising, was one the students during the time he taught at Morris Isaacson, and many of his students have recalled his impact on their own politicisation during this period of student organisation in South African history. Gofaone Tiro (21 January 1991 – 27 April 2017) was a Motswana professional footballer who played as a winger. Tiro played for several teams including Uniao Flamengo Santos and Township Rollers over a career spanning seventeen years but was never chosen to represent the Botswana national football team at any level. Club career He started his career with Chiefs Botswana and stayed for four years before moving to Gabane-based club Flamengo Desportos. When the club merged with Gabane Santos to form Uniao Flamengo Santos he was one of the players that were retained, winning the club top goalscorer award and being named the man of the match in the 2012 FA Cup before leaving for Township Rollers in 2013. Hasan Tiro
Hasan Muhammad di Tiro, M.S, M.A, LL.D, Ph.D. (25 September 1925 – 3 June 2010), born Hasan Bin Leube Muhammad, was the founder of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), an organisation which attempted to separate Aceh from Indonesia from the 1970s. It surrendered its separatist goals and agreed to disarm as agreed to in the Helsinki peace deal of 2005. He was the maternal great-grandson of Tengku Cik di Tiro, an Indonesian national hero who was killed fighting the Dutch in 1891. In 2010 he obtained his Indonesian citizenship back shortly before his death. Part of the Jimma Zone, Nedi Gibe is bordered on the south by Omo Nada, on the west by Kersa, on the north by Limmu Kosa, and on the east by Sokoru. The administrative center of the woreda is Dimtu. Tiro de Gracia is a Chilean Hip-Hop group formed by the MC's: Lenwa Dura and Zaturno "Tiro de Gracia" was known for their raw lyrical style. They initially performed using cassette tapes looped by "DJ Raff" former member of " La Pozze Latina". During this time the group recorded two independent albums titled "Arma Calibrada" and "Homosapiens", which were distributed hand to hand on the local hip hop scene. Kohl (cosmetics)
Kohl ( ar, كُحْل, kuḥl), kajal or kajol is an ancient eye cosmetic, traditionally made by grinding stibnite (Sb2S3) for use similar to that of charcoal in mascara. It is widely used in the Middle East, Caucasus and North Africa, South Asia, West Africa, and the Horn of Africa as eyeliner to contour and/or darken the eyelids and as mascara for the eyelashes. It is worn mostly by women, but also by some men and children. The content of kohl and various ways to prepare it differ based on tradition and country.
