Tingi-Tingi Airport is a highway strip airport serving the village of Tingi-Tingi in Lubutu Territory, Maniema Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The runway is a widened and paved section of the N3 road, southeast of the village. Some runway markings are visible. Lubutu
Lubutu is a town in Lubutu Territory, Maniema Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As of 2012, it had an estimated population of 8,205. The town is a hub for collecting minerals mined in the area, but impassable roads are a significant obstacle to moving goods. In 2019 there was a protest of Mai-Mai Simba who stole some gold ore. A road runway or road base or highway airstrip (US), is a section of an automotive public road, highway, Controlled-access highway, motorway, or similar, that is specially built (or adapted) to act as a runway for (primarily) military aircraft, and to serve as an emergency or auxiliary military airbase.
