Timothy Lang
Timothy John Lang (born 9 November 1985) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Kilsyth Cobras of the NBL1 South. He played three years of college basketball in the United States for the Stetson Hatters before playing the majority of his career in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) and NBL1 South. He also had two stints in the National Basketball League (NBL) with the Melbourne Tigers and won a championship in Germany with Erdgas Ehingen/Urspringschule. Early life and career Lang was born in Melbourne, Victoria, where he attended Overnewton Anglican Community College. He also played for the Keilor Thunder in the Big V Division One between 2004 and 2006. On 1 June 2006, Lang signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball for Stetson University in the United States. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. They traditionally play close to the basket in the low post. Stetson University
Stetson University is a private university with four colleges and schools located across the I–4 corridor in Central Florida with the primary undergraduate campus in DeLand. The university was founded in 1883 and was later established in 1887. In total, there are over 4,000 students currently enrolled at Stetson. 2019 NBL1 Season
The 2019 NBL1 season was the first season of NBL1 after the demise of the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). The season begun on 29 March 2019 with three matches being placed and it concluded on 17 August 2019 with the grand final of both the men's and women's seasons. Background On 15 February, the name of NBL1 was decided with Basketball Victoria and the NBL deciding on the name which would formerly replace the SEABL as the premier winter league. This was mainly due to the fact that Basketball Australia decided to pull the plug on the SEABL. Forcing the Victorian teams plus the three Tassie teams into the creation of the new league. 2017–18 NBL Season
The 2017–18 NBL season was the 40th season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of eight teams contested the league. The regular season was played between October 2017 and February 2018, followed by a post-season featuring the top four in March 2018. Australian broadcast rights to the season were held by Fox Sports, in the third year of a five-year deal, with two games per week simulcast on SBS. In New Zealand, Sky Sport were the official league broadcaster. As Australia and New Zealand participated in 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification, the league took a break during the newly created FIBA international windows of 20–28 November 2017 and 19–27 February 2018. Perth Wildcats
The Perth Wildcats are an Australian professional basketball team based in Perth, Western Australia. The Wildcats compete in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at Perth Arena, RAC Arena, known colloquially as "The Jungle". After three years of strong lobbying to the NBL, the creation of a national basketball team in Perth finally occurred in 1982. The Westate Wildcats were established and played out of the 800-seat Perry Lakes Basketball Stadium. The Ballarat Miners are an Australian basketball team based in Ballarat, Victoria. The Miners compete in the Women’s and Men's NBL1 South and play their home games at the Selkirk Stadium. The team is affiliated with Ballarat Basketball Association, the major administrative basketball organisation in the region.
