Timofey Bazhenov
Timofey Timofeyevich Bazhenov (; born 25 January 1976, Moscow) is a Russian political figure, former TV host, and deputy in the 8th convocation of the State Duma. Starting from 1994, Timofey Bazhenov began to work on the NTV channel, and in 1998 he was officially hired as a reporter. Since then, he has hosted many entertainment TV shows. Bazhenov's political career started in 2015 when he was appointed the head of the press office of Magas city. In the 2021 Russian legislative election, Bazhenov ran for deputy of the Babushkinsky constituency under the United Russia political party, obltaining a seat with 38.40% of the vote. Magas
Magas (russian: Мага́с) is the capital town of the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. It was founded in 1995 and replaced Nazran as the capital of the republic in 2002. Due to this distinction, Magas is the smallest capital of a federal subject in Russia. In 2019, it had a population of 8,771 inhabitants, up from 5,841 in 2010 and 272 in 2002. History The Republic of Ingushetia came into existence in 1992, having been split from the Chechen–Ingush ASSR. Nazran, the largest of three towns of the new republic, was made a temporary capital. In 1995, President Ruslan Aushev founded Magas just a few kilometers south of Nazran, naming it after the medieval city of Maghas. The new town was supposed to serve purely for administrative needs. 2021 Russian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Russia from 17 to 19 September 2021. At stake were 450 seats in the 8th convocation of the State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly. Going into the elections, United Russia was the ruling party after winning the 2016 elections with 343 of the 450 seats, and retaining a supermajority. In March 2020, it was proposed to hold a snap election in September 2020 due to proposed constitutional reforms, but this idea was abandoned. On 18 June 2021 Vladimir Putin signed a decree calling the election for 19 September the same year. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia, voting in the election lasted for three days, from 17 to 19 September. Final turnout was reported to be 51.72%.
