Timo Antila
Timo Antila (born September 22, 1980) is a retired Finnish biathlete. He was born in Jurva. He competed in the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympics for Finland. His best finish is 12th, as a member of the Finnish relay team in 2002. His best individual performance is 19th, in the 2002 sprint. As of February 2013, his best finish at the Biathlon World Championships, is 5th, as part of the Finnish relay team in 2001. Ruhpolding
Ruhpolding is the municipality with the biggest area of the Traunstein district in southeastern Bavaria, Germany. It is situated in the south of the Chiemgau region in the Alps and next to the Austrian border. Ruhpolding has a biathlon track. It hosted the 1979, 1985, 1996 and 2012 Biathlon World Championships. The Biathlon World Cup is a top-level biathlon season-long competition series. It has been held since the winter seasons of 1977–78 for men and 1982–83 for women. The women's seasons until 1986–87 season were called the European Cup, although participation was not restricted to Europeans. Competition and format The World Cup season lasts from November or December to late March, with meetings in a different venue every week excluding some holidays and a couple of weeks before the season's major championships (World Championships or Winter Olympics). All in all, the season comprises nine to ten meetings, with events taking place from Wednesday–Thursday through Sunday. Relay competitions are held four to six times per season.
