Time Team Digs
''Time Team Digs'' is a British television series that aired on Channel 4 in 2002. Presented by the actor Tony Robinson, the show is a spin-off of the archaeology series ''Time Team'', that first aired on Channel 4 in 1994. It is also known as ''Time Team Digs: A History of Britain''. ''Time Team Digs'' is an eight-part series including highlights from previous ''Time Team'' digs, with each episode focusing on a particular period in history, going from the Bronze Age to the modern day. Production and cast The series producer of ''Time Team Digs'' was Tim Taylor, the creator and producer of ''Time Team'' and its predecessor '' Time Signs''. Tony Robinson
Sir Anthony Robinson (born 15 August 1946) is an English actor, author, broadcaster, comedian, presenter, and political activist. He played Baldrick in the BBC television series ''Blackadder'' and has presented several historical documentaries including the Channel 4 programmes '' Time Team'' and '' The Worst Jobs in History''. He has published 16 children's books. Robinson, a member of the Labour Party, was knighted in the 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours for his public and political service. Carenza Lewis
Professor Carenza Rachel Lewis (born 30 November 1963) is a British academic archaeologist and television presenter. Early life Lewis received her formal education at the school of the Church of England Community of All Hallows, in Suffolk, and at Girton College, University of Cambridge. Field and academic career In 1985, she joined the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England as a field archaeologist for the Wessex area. During part of her time with the Commission she was seconded to the History Department of the University of Birmingham to research the relationship between settlement and landscape in the East Midlands. She followed this with a similar project in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Lewis was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London in 1998. Roman Britain
Roman Britain was the period in classical antiquity when large parts of the island of Great Britain were under occupation by the Roman Empire. The occupation lasted from AD 43 to AD 410. This is a list of ''Time Team'' special episodes that aired between 1997 and 2014. These special episodes often depart somewhat from the regular ''Time Team'' format, by revisiting previous sites to do a follow-up story; travelling outside the UK to excavate other sites of interest; chronicling digs overseen by other organisations; or using information gleaned from other ''Time Team'' episodes to draw a more complete picture of ordinary life during a particular historical era. Geophysics
Geophysics () is a subject of natural science concerned with the physical processes and physical properties of the Earth and its surrounding space environment, and the use of quantitative methods for their analysis. Christopher Gaffney (archaeologist)
Christopher F. Gaffney (born 14 June 1962) is a British archaeological geophysicist and is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at the University of Bradford. Gaffney's research interests are based on understanding how geophysical data can aide archaeology in the understanding of the life and culture of ancient peoples. In pursuing these research goals he has pursued research in challenging environments where technical excellence and novel methodological approaches can lead to enhanced interpretation of the past. John Gater
John Gater is a British archaeological geophysicist who featured regularly on the Channel 4 archaeological television series ''Time Team''. He was educated at the University of Bradford and graduated with a BSc Archaeological Sciences in 1979. He worked with British Gas (for five years), the Ancient Monuments Laboratory (English Heritage) and Bradford University Research. In 1983 he became a member of the Institute of Field Archaeologists (CIfA) and is now also an associate editor for the ''Journal of Archaeological Prospection''. In 1986 he founded Geophysical Surveys of Bradford (GSB), an independent consultancy in geophysics for archaeology, which was later acquired by the SUMO Group in 2012.
