Tim Peel
Tim Peel is a Canadian former professional hockey referee for the National Hockey League from 1999 to 2021. During his career, Peel officiated 1,362 regular season games and 90 playoff games, as well as international hockey at the Olympics in 2014. Peel's career ended in controversy following a hot mic incident. Career Peel joined the National Hockey League Officials' Association (NHLOA) in 1995 and officiated his first NHL game four years later in 1999 between the Colorado Avalanche and the Ottawa Senators. Peel's first playoff game occurred in the 2002 Stanley Cup Playoffs where he officiated the Arizona Coyotes and the San Jose Sharks on April 17. Peel officiated his 1,000th game on November 14, 2015. 2009 NHL Winter Classic
The 2009 NHL Winter Classic (known via corporate sponsorship as the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic 2009) was an outdoor ice hockey game played in the National Hockey League (NHL) on January 1, 2009, at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The second edition of the Winter Classic, it matched the Chicago Blackhawks against the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings in the 701st game between the Central Division rivals. The Red Wings won the game, 6–4, despite falling behind 3–1 in the first period. It was the first Winter Classic to involve at least one of the Original Six teams, and the first to feature teams from the Western Conference. KSDK (channel 5) is a television station in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Tegna Inc. The station's studios are located on Market Street in Downtown St. Louis, and its transmitter is located in Shrewsbury, Missouri. Filip Forsberg
Carl Filip Anton Forsberg (; born 13 August 1994), nicknamed "Fil", is a Swedish professional ice hockey player and alternate captain for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Forsberg was selected by the Washington Capitals in the first round, 11th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft but was traded to the Predators before ever playing for the team. Tripping (ice Hockey)
A tripping or obstruction tripping penalty in ice hockey and ringette is called by the Official (ice hockey), referee when a player trips an opposing player with their hockey stick or ringette stick, or uses their Ice skate#Hockey skates, skate against the other player's skate ("slew footing"), causing them to lose balance or fall and obstruct them from making their desired play. This article deals chiefly with ice hockey. A tripping call usually results in a two-minute minor penalty on the player that caused the infraction. Johan Viktor Arvidsson (born 8 April 1993) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Greg Wyshynski (born March 20, 1977) is an American sportswriter and radio personality, best known for creating Yahoo! Sports’ ice hockey blog ''Puck Daddy''. NHL Regular Season
The season structure of the National Hockey League (NHL) is divided into the pre-season, regular season, and the Stanley Cup playoffs. In the pre-season, which is generally held during the last two weeks of September, each team plays several not-for-the-record exhibition games. In the regular season, which generally runs from early October through early April, teams play 82 games which determine their standings.
