Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. Moose Jaw North is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. One of two provincial constituencies for the city of Moose Jaw, the riding's southern boundary follows Caribou Street from the Trans-Canada bypass in the east to the city limits in the west. This district was created for the 1967 election after the Saskatchewan government decided to retire a system of multiple-MLA electoral divisions for the cities of Regina, Saskatoon, and Moose Jaw. Warren Michelson
Warren Michelson is a former Canadian politician who represented the electoral district of Moose Jaw North in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 2007 to 2020. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Party. He defeated long time NDP MLA Glenn Hagel to win the seat. In the 2018 Saskatchewan Party leadership election, Michelson supported Ken Cheveldayoff, who had stated that he doesn't believe rape victims should have legal access to abortion services, earning him the anti-abortion group Right Now's top rank out of the six leadership candidates. Michelson had previously attended as an MLA the anti-abortion March for Life rallies in Ottawa, Moose Jaw, and Regina in the past. As a president with the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, Michelson led the charge against a proposed government-directed employment hours scheme in the private sector. The Saskatchewan Party is a centre-right political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Since 2007, it has been the province's governing party; both the party and the province are currently led by Premier Scott Moe. The party was established in 1997 by a coalition of former provincial Progressive Conservative and Liberal party members and supporters who sought to remove the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) from power. The Saskatchewan Party served as the province's Official Opposition until the provincial election on November 7, 2007. Martensville, Saskatchewan
Martensville is a city located in Saskatchewan, Canada, just north of Saskatoon, and southwest of Clarkboro Ferry which crosses the South Saskatchewan River. It is a bedroom community of Saskatoon. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344. The community is served by the Saskatoon/Richter Field Aerodrome located immediately west of the city across Highway 12. Moose Jaw is the fourth largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. Lying on the Moose Jaw River in the south-central part of the province, it is situated on the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Regina. 2020 Saskatchewan General Election
The 2020 Saskatchewan general election was held on October 26, 2020 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. This date is set by Saskatchewan's fixed election date law. The writ was dropped on September 29 just in time to hold the election on October 26. The previous election re-elected the Saskatchewan Party to its third consecutive majority government under the leadership of Brad Wall. On August 10, 2017, Wall announced his resignation as leader, pending the election of his successor. On January 27, 2018, Environment Minister Scott Moe was elected leader of the Saskatchewan Party. He was appointed and sworn in as premier on February 2. The conservative Saskatchewan Party under Moe was re-elected to its fourth consecutive majority government.
