Tim Mahon
Tim Mahon is a New Zealand musician who played in the Plague, the Whizz Kids and Blam Blam Blam. He was seriously injured in a road accident while on tour with Blam Blam Blam, leading to the band breaking up. In 1983 he played bass and sang with Avant Garage and wrote an album track, "Breakin-it-up", which is on both the LP and cassette. Other musicians involved in Avant Garage included Ivan Zagni and Peter Scholes. His solo album, ''Music From a Lightbulb'' (2003) for which he used the name The Moth, was written with Peter Van Gent. Musicians playing on the album included Mark Bell, Ivan Zagni and Don McGlashan. Tim was associated with the Otara Music Arts Centre as a council liaison. He was instrumental in forming bands such as Sistermatic (featuring Sina) and most notably the Otara Millionaires Club, e.g. on the Proud compilation created together with producer Alan Jansson. How Bizarre (song)
"How Bizarre" is a song written and performed by New Zealand musical group OMC. It was released in December 1995 by Huh! and Polydor Records as the lead single from their only album, '' How Bizarre'' (1996). It was both written and produced by lead singer of OMC, Pauly Fuemana with Alan Jansson, and went on to top the charts of five countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand. In the United States, the song peaked at number four on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 Airplay chart. Lee Baker directed its accompanying music video featuring the group in a Chevrolet Impala. "How Bizarre" won the award for "Single of the Year" at the 1996 New Zealand Music Awards. Starship Children's Health
Starship Children's Hospital is a public children's hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. Opened on 18 November 1991, it was one of the first purpose-built children's hospitals in New Zealand, and is the largest such facility in the country. Although a separate facility, it is located on the same grounds as the Auckland City Hospital in Grafton, Auckland, and is adjacent to the Auckland Medical School. On 1 July 2022 Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand and Te Aka Whai Ora – Māori Health Authority became New Zealand's new national health authorities and Starship became part of Health New Zealand. Ma-V-Elle is a three-piece New Zealand girl group best known for their top-40 singles in the New Zealand charts in the mid 1990s. OMC (band)
OMC, or Otara Millionaires Club, were a New Zealand music group, then duo, with vocalist Pauly Fuemana later becoming the sole member. OMC was best known for the 1996 hit " How Bizarre", named one of the greatest New Zealander songs of all time by the Australasian Performing Right Association. The full name of the band is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Ōtara's status as one of the poorest suburbs of Auckland.
