Tim Hamilton (designer)
Tim Hamilton is an American fashion designer known for minimalist sportswear. He launched his own menswear label in 2006. He is a three time CFDA nominee, and the winner of the 2009 CFDA/Swarovski Award for Menswear. Early life and education After receiving his undergraduate degree in liberal arts from University of Iowa, Hamilton moved to New York to begin his career in fashion. He continued his studies at Parsons and began to work for American brands including Polo Ralph Lauren and J.Crew. Career In 2007, with his background in American craftsmanship, he drew influence from his upbringing in Iowa, global travels and interest in art to found his own eponymous label which is sold to prestigious global stores including Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman (New York), Isetan (Japan) and L’Eclaireur (Paris). Seth Price
Seth Price (born 1973 in Palestine) is a New York City-based multi-disciplinary post-conceptual artist. He lives and works in New York City. Early life Price was born in the village of Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem, Palestine in 1973. His parents had travelled to Sheikh Jarrah on behalf of the Quaker organization American Friends Service Committee and established a legal aid clinic for the local Palestinian population. Price lived there until he was two years old. Price then moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended Brookline public schools. He later attended Brown University where he received his BA in 1998. Price has described his ethnic heritage as "Welsh/Greek/American WASP." Writing In 2020, Price published the poetry book ''Dedicated to Life'', which was conceived as a part of a gallery exhibition at Isabella Bortolozzi. Ross Bleckner
Ross Bleckner (born May 12, 1949) is an American artist. He currently lives and works in New York City. His artistic focus is on painting, and he held his first solo exhibition in 1975. Some of his art work reflected on the AIDS epidemic. Early life and education Bleckner was born on May 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York and he grew up Jewish. In an interview, Bleckner commented that he was fortunate to have supportive parents. In 1961, Bleckner and his family moved to a more affluent town in Hewlett, New York, where he attended George W. Hewlett High School. In 1965, Bleckner saw his first art exhibition, ''The Responsive Eye'', at the Museum of Modern Art, which went on to have a huge impact on his artwork. Collier Schorr
Collier Schorr (born 1963) is an American artist and fashion photographer best known for adolescent portraits that blend photographic realism with elements of fiction and youthful fantasy. Schorr grew up in Queens, New York and studied journalism at the School of Visual Arts. In the 1980s and 1990s she also worked actively as an art critic. Her photography work was featured in the 2002 Whitney Biennial and the 2003 International Center for Photography Triennial. In 2008 she received a Berlin Prize by the American Academy in Berlin. Fast fashion is a term used to describe the clothing industry's business model of replicating recent catwalk trends and high-fashion designs, mass-producing them at a low cost, and bringing them to retail stores quickly, while demand is at its highest.
