Tim Fischer
Timothy Andrew Fischer (3 May 1946 – 22 August 2019) was an Australian politician and diplomat who served as leader of the National Party of Australia, National Party from 1990 to 1999. He was the tenth Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, deputy prime minister in the Howard government from 1996 to 1999. Fischer was born in Lockhart, New South Wales. He served with the Australian Army in the Vietnam War. On his return he bought a farming property at Boree Creek, New South Wales, Boree Creek. He served in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1971 to 1984. Fischer was elected to the Australian House of Representatives, House of Representatives at the 1984 Australian federal election, 1984 election, representing the Division of Farrer until his retirement in 2001. Lockhart is a town in the Riverina Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the location of the Lockhart Shire Council. At the 2016 census, Lockhart had a population of 818 people. History Lockhart was named after C.G.N. Lockhart – a commissioner for Crown Lands in the Murrumbidgee River area in the 1850s. It was originally known as Greens Gunyah, and renamed Lockhart in 1897. John Sullivan (Australian Politician)
John William Sullivan (born 7 February 1929) is an Australian former politician. Sullivan was born in Narrandera, New South Wales and educated at Narranderra High School, St Patrick's College, Goulburn, Royal Military College, Duntroon. Sturt was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales in the Broken Hill area. It was a single member electorate from 1889 to 1920. Members for Sturt History Prior to 1889 Broken Hill was part of the district of Wentworth. The population in Wentworth had grown significantly since the 1880 redistribution, especially as a result of the growth of mining at Broken Hill. Under the formula for seats, Wentworth was due to return 3 members. Because of the large area covered by the district, in 1889 it was split into 3, Wentworth, Sturt and Wilcannia.
