Elaine McKenna
Elaine McKenna Evans (, 24 March 19376 January 1992), was an Australian singer and actress. She is known for her television appearances from the late 1950s to the 1960s, particularly on GTV-9's ''Tarax Show'' and ''In Melbourne Tonight''. For her TV work, McKenna won the Logie Award for Best Singer in 1961. McKenna relocated to the United States in late 1961. She appeared on ''The Bob Newhart Show'' in that year. By February 1968 she had returned to Melbourne. Biography Elaine McKenna was born on 24 March 1937 and grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Albert Park with her father George McKenna and her mother. As an amateur singer and musical theatre actress she had a role in Cid Ellwood's production of ''The Red Sombrero'', which began at Moonee Ponds Town Hall on 29 June 1956 for a week, followed by Box Hill Town Hall (30 July–1 August) and Brunswick Town Hall (30–31 October). Tim Evans (footballer)
Tim Evans (born 13 August 1953) is a former Australian rules football player who played for Port Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Early life Originally from Tasmania, Evans played for Penguin Football Club in the North West Football Union.Devaney, J. . Retrieved 13 October 2010. Geelong (1971–1974) Evans was recruited by Geelong in 1971, where he spent four seasons at half back. Port Adelaide (1975–1986) In 1975, he joined Port Adelaide and went on to play 230 games for the club. He won the club's goalkicking with 64 that year. After a season used in defence, he was moved to full forward in 1977 by coach John Cahill and was an immediate success, leading the league with 88 goals, including seven in Port Adelaide's Grand Final win over Glenelg. Timothy Evans
Timothy John Evans (20 November 1924 – 9 March 1950) was a Welsh lorry driver who was wrongfully accused of murdering his wife Beryl and infant daughter Geraldine at their residence in Notting Hill, London. In January 1950, Evans was tried and convicted of the murder of his daughter, and on 9 March he was executed by hanging. During his trial, Evans accused his downstairs neighbour, John Christie, who was the chief prosecution witness in the case against him, of committing the murders. Three years after Evans's execution, Christie was found to be a serial killer who had murdered several other women in the same house, including his own wife Ethel. Christie was himself sentenced to death, and while awaiting execution, he confessed to having murdered Mrs. Evans. An official inquiry concluded in 1966 that Christie had murdered Evans's daughter Geraldine, and Evans was granted a posthumous pardon.
