Tim Clark (comedian)
Tim Clark is a British comedian, writer and presenter on both television and radio. He currently lives in London with his wife and two of his children. Comedy & Stage For more than 30 years, Clark has been building a reputation for himself on the comedy scene. Working as a stand-up comedian and compère, he has performed throughout the U.K., Europe and Asia. In January 1990, he introduced the first 'Pillar Talk' show at the Pillar Room in the Cheltenham Town Hall, a venue which has seen some of the top acts in the UK including Simon Pegg, Mark Lamarr, Bill Bailey and Frank Skinner. Clark was on hand to witness one of the crazier moments in Jim Jefferies' career. The Australian comic was on stage at the Comedy Store, Manchester when he was attacked by a heckler. Jongleurs (comedy Club)
Jongleurs is a chain of comedy clubs in the United Kingdom, running since 1983. The business is now owned by Kev Orkian. Early years Maria Kempinska MBE established and opened the first Jongleurs club in 1983 in Battersea, London. In 1985 Kempinska met her business partner John Davy and they went on to create a number of comedy clubs around the UK in the following years. By 2000, there were eight Jongleurs venues across the UK. Regent Inns plc, the owners of Walkabout, bought the clubs. Kempinska and Davy retained certain rights to the brand name, as well as creative control over booking acts. With Regent Inns in financial trouble, the Cardiff venue was closed in January 2009 and in October that year, Regent Inns went into prepacked administration, allowing for a management buy-out which resulted in the formation of Intertain UK. Danny Kelly (born 23 December 1956) is a British music journalist, sports presenter, and internet publisher. He is the former editor of the music weekly ''New Musical Express'' and Q magazine. Early life Danny Kelly was born in Islington to Irish parents and attended Our Lady of Sacred Heart in Eden Grove and then St Aloysius College, Highgate. Kelly has worked in print and radio journalism for over twenty years. He began writing for ''New Musical Express'' in about 1983 and was its editor from the late 1980s to 1992. After that he edited the British music monthly, '' Q'', and was awarded the title British Magazine Editor of the Year for his work there. He left in 1995. Engelbert Humperdinck (singer)
Arnold George Dorsey (born 2 May 1936), known professionally as Engelbert Humperdinck, is an English pop singer who has been described as "one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers around". He achieved international prominence in 1967 with his recording of " Release Me". Starting as a performer under the name of Gerry Dorsey in the late 1950s, he later adopted the name of the German composer Engelbert Humperdinck as a stage name and found success after he partnered with manager Gordon Mills in 1965. His recordings of the ballads " Release Me" and " The Last Waltz" both topped the UK Singles Chart in 1967, selling more than a million copies each. Humperdinck scored further major hits in rapid succession, including " There Goes My Everything" (1967), " Am I That Easy to Forget" (1968) and " A Man Without Love" (1968). Imran Yusuf
Imran Yusuf (born 26 November 1979) is a Kenyan-born British stand-up comedian of Indian Konkani Muslim descent, who has appeared on various British radio and TV comedy shows. Early life and career Yusuf was born in Mombasa, Kenya to ethnic Indian parents of Konkani Muslim origin, and grew up in London. His family became refugees following the expulsion of Asians from Uganda by Idi Amin in 1972. He initially worked in the video game industry. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe (also referred to as The Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, or Edinburgh Fringe Festival) is the world's largest arts and media festival, which in 2019 spanned 25 days and featured more than 59,600 performances of 3,841 different shows in 322 venues. Established in 1947 as an alternative to (and on the fringe of) the Edinburgh International Festival, it takes place in Edinburgh every August. Leslie Dennis Heseltine (born 12 October 1953) is an English television presenter, actor, and comedian. He presented '' Family Fortunes'' from 1987 until 2002. Early life Dennis was born Leslie Dennis Heseltine on 12 October 1953 in the Liverpool suburb of Garston. His mother worked in a factory while his father, who worked in a betting shop after serving in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, was listed as a football player on the books of Liverpool FC but did not play for the first team. He lived in the suburb of Speke for a while and attended the Stockton Wood and Joseph Williams primary schools, before going to Morrison Rose Lane Secondary Modern school in Allerton.
