The Tillamook School District (9) serves Tillamook, Oregon, United States, and its surrounding areas. As of 2019, the district had 2,105 students. Tillamook School District serves approximately 2,105 students at a total of six schools. Those schools are: Liberty Elementary School (K-1), South Prairie Elementary (2nd-3rd), East Elementary (4th-6th), one junior high school, one high school (Tillamook High School), and two alternative high schools, Wilson River School and (contracted with Oregon Youth Authority) Trask River High School. Tillamook schools are known across the state for their district-wide natural resource program, their state champion speech team, their positive school environments, and their innovative instructional practices. The city of Tillamook ( ) serves as the county seat of Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The city is located on the southeast end of Tillamook Bay on the Pacific Ocean. The population was 5,231 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History The city is named for the Tillamook people, a Native Americans in the United States, Native American tribe speaking a Salishan language who lived in this area until the early 19th century. Tillamook High School
Tillamook High School is a four-year public high school located in Tillamook, Oregon, United States, as part of the Tillamook School District. The school has served the area for over 100 years. Its mascot is the Cheesemaker and its colors are red, black, and white. History Tillamook High School was established sometime prior to 1912. The 1915 yearbook indicates alumni as far back as 1904. A new high school had been built for students in 1912. Students attended this school until the 1951–1952 school year, when they moved to the current location. Academics In 2008, 77% of the school's seniors received their high school diploma. Of 173 students, 133 graduated, 17 dropped out, 4 received a modified diploma, and 19 were still in high school the next year. Fairview Grange History Fairview Grange - located by the Tillamook County Fairgrounds on 3rd street - was founded in 1895 as the 273rd Grange organized in the nation, and the first Tillamook County.
